Amadeus River Cruises has announced plans to launch a new ship, Amadeus Mira, which will sail on the Rhine and Danube in 2027
The vessel will accommodate 158 guests in 12 suites with balconies and 67 cabins featuring panoramic windows. Mira also includes a restaurant, a sun deck with an outdoor pool and bar, a fitness room and a river terrace. The ship will operate with hybrid propulsion and a heat recovery system.
Mira will offer a range of itineraries on the Rhine and Danube including tulip cruises from Amsterdam, journeys from Trier to Passau, voyages to the Danube Delta, and a 15-day sailing from Amsterdam to Budapest.
Wolfgang Lueftner, founder and CEO of Amadeus River Cruises, said: “Standing still is not an option for us. With our annual new builds, our fleet remains one of the most modern, while our continually evolving excursion programme offers guests experiences found only with Amadeus. We provide tailor-made experiences for every taste – whether cultural enthusiasts, food and wine lovers, or active travellers.”
The line’s 2027 programme features 15 itineraries across France, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania. It includes 30 new shore excursions, with added cultural, food-led and active options.
New excursions include the Triberg Waterfalls in Germany’s Black Forest, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a full-day Brussels tour and an artist-themed visit to Nuremberg. Food-focused experiences range from apple brandy tastings in Normandy to Cologne beer tours and Riesling tastings at Eberbach Abbey.
