A-Rosa has begun work on its ship refurbishment programme.

The cruise line is upgrading six of its 11 ships over the next three to four years – A-Rosa Donna, A-Rosa Stella, A-Rosa Bella, A-Rosa Mia, A-Rosa Riva and A-Rosa Luna.

The A-Rosa Donna, which sails on the Danube, is the first to undergo work.

Improvements will be made to public areas and cabins, while enhanced WiFi and 42-inch flat screen televisions will be installed.

In addition, the ship’s speciality dining area at the rear of the ship will be redesigned to reflect a more rustic Bavarian theme. The ship will return to the Danube at the end of March.

A-Rosa managing director UK & Ireland Lucia Rowe said: “Over the next few years we will spend several million Euros refurbishing and modernising our first generation ships in the fleet.

“While the ships have undergone regular refreshments and are thus all in good condition, this extensive refurbishment programme will ensure all our ships meet the expectation of today’s cruisers. Better performing WiFi and larger TV’s in all cabins will also increase the comfort of our guests on board.”
