Titan Travel has revealed that the most booked holidays during lockdown are UK short breaks and European river cruises.

Titan, which specialises in escorted tours, named these as the best-selling tours for new bookings during the lockdown period.

Overall, the bestselling tour was the North Wales Short Break, showing just how important British holidaying will be in the upcoming months.

There was also a spike in lockdown bookings for European River Cruises, with the FCO now allowing Britons to enjoy cruises on Europe’s waterways.

In good news for the travel industry, Titan also revealed that demand for long-haul adventures in 2021 have increased.

Long-haul tours in North America, Asia and Africa were among the most-booked tours for 2021.

Managing director of Titan Travel, Andy Squirrell, commented: “It was hugely uplifting to see new bookings coming in throughout the lockdown period and most interesting to see the types of holidays being booked.

“For the first time in Titan history, our UK tours were outselling our worldwide tours as the demand for domestic and no-fly holidays surged between April and July.

“As international travel slowly begins to resume we’re seeing more interest flood in for our long-haul holidays, and expect this to continue as the year goes on.

“Many travellers have already transferred their 2020 holiday to next year with Canada, the USA and Asia booking particularly well for 2021.

“We advise travellers looking to explore the world again next year to book early whilst availability lasts.”

Titan Travel offers an impressive selection of escorted river cruises, working with river cruise lines like A-Rosa, CroisiEurope, Pandaw and Duoro Azul.

The operator’s most popular trip booked in lockdown, ‘North Wales Short Break’, is available from £769 per person. Taking places over five days, it includes four nights at a hotel, eight meals and three excursions including a visit to Snowdown Mountain Railway Estate and Penrhyn Castle.
