Celebrity Cruises to operate three ships in Galápagos Islands in 2024

Celebrity Cruises is to operate three ships sailing to the Galápagos Islands on seven-night itineraries in 2024.

Celebrity Flora, Celebrity Xpedition and Celebrity Xploration will set sail from January, running six itineraries in total.

The cruise line said it will offer immersive experiences, including twice-daily shore excursions guided by on-board certified naturalists from the Galápagos National Park.

Celebrity Cruises president and CEO Lisa Lutoff-Perlo said: “The Galápagos Islands are indescribably beautiful, and an instant reminder of what a wonderful world we have.

“Our new sailings take our guests to this special destination and offer experiences that will change their lives forever.”

The 100-passenger Celebrity Flora, described by Celebrity as a “mega yacht”,  has an outward-facing design to ensure 360-degree views from as much of the ship as possible. It has also been designed with “natural materials and new technologies”, the line said.

Celebrity Xpedition, meanwhile has a capacity for 48 passengers, while Celebrity Xploration holds just 16 guests.

Guests will be able to extend their Galápagos itineraries with 10 to 16-night holiday packages, including visits to the city of Quito, Ecuador, or the Andes in Peru.

The Galápagos itineraries announcement follows on from Celebrity Cruises’ 2023/24 Asia programme.

Celebrity Millennium and Celebrity Solstice will offer 12-night itineraries, with Millennium will setting sail in September 2023, visiting Japan, China, Malaysia, and Thailand, and Celebrity Solstice joining in November 2023 in Southeast Asia.
