About Hong Kong

Hong Kong combines thousands of years of Chinese tradition with the legacy of British rule. The best view of Hong Kong is from the platform at the top of 400m Victoria Peak, reached via the tram journey, on a gradient of more than 25 degrees, which is an experience in itself.  Another enduring symbol of Hong Kong is the Star Ferry. The distinctive tub-shaped vessels have been plying the waters between Hong Kong and the Kowloon district since 1874 and provide fantastic views of Victoria Harbour. A visit to one of Hong Kong’s markets is a must and one of the best is Temple Street Night Market. It opens at 4pm but only truly comes into its own after dark.
