CMV bowled over by interest in cricket cruise

Cricket

Cruise and Maritime Voyages (CMV) are bowled over with the response from agents for their cricket themed cruise on Magellan.

Lisa Jacobs, Head of Trade Sales at CMV said “Since the England ladies cricket team got into the finals and then won the World Cup we have been very busy with enquiries and bookings. Apparently more than one million people watched the final on TV. This has created great interest in the recently announced Cricket theme addition to our ‘Medieval Cities & River Seine’ Magellan departure from London – Tilbury 24 October for six nights.” Fares are from £499pp.

David Gower, and many other top names from the world of cricket are to join the cruise. It includes a strong line up of former England plus past county cricket legends from Essex and Kent. TV prersenter Nick Hancock from They think it’s all over will also be on hand to see fairplay. Guests on board will be able to see big screen cricket highlights, watch a ‘Question of Cricket Challenge’ with team representatives of former players from Essex and Kent. Guest cricketers also include:- Chris Cowdrey, Alan Wells, John Lever, Ray East, Don Topley and Ken McEwan.

David Gower and Chris Cowdrey will be on stage in ‘The David and Chris Show’ and talking about their experiences with Nick Hancock as the ‘umpire’ for what is bound to be a popular ‘audience with’ session.

This interesting cruise departs from the London Cruise Terminal in Tilbury on the River Thames, and visits Amsterdam and Antwerp followed by a leisurely cruise up the River Seine to the beautiful city of Rouen made famous by artist Monet and Joan of Arc. Before sailing back on Magellan to Tilbury a pleasant call is made in the picturesque Normandy town of Honfleur. A good programme of sightseeing excursions are available for this attractive  itinerary.

The Lord’s Taverners is the charity partner for this cruise whose mission is to enhance the prospects of disadvantaged and disabled young people using cricket and other forms of sport and recreation to engage with them.
